Source: USDA-Hatch (NY 151411)
Location: Cornell University
Duration: 10/01/03-9/30/06
Summary: The main objective of this project is to develop powerful statistical tools for identifying genes or regions of chromosomes that have been the target of artificial selection in agricultural crop populations. A second objective is to compare these novel methods to existing adaptive locus mapping methods in order to identify particular cases when different tools will perform best and to describe these cases. The ultimate goal of this work is produce publicly available open-source reliable computer software implementing these methods and to make this software freely available to non-profit and academic groups.
